I tried to follow the same process as traditional painting.
1. Emulated a toned canvas and went ahead with an underdrawing.
2. Blocked in BG colors.
3. Blocked in a base for the drawing for shape and 2-tone to separate light and shadow
4. Render xD
5. Highlights and canvas texture
Painting practice in photoshop. I wanted to keep the process simple and limited layers (2-3 at any given time). I intended this as a quick warmup but I started to get caught up on detail that I kept rendering until I got bored (forgot how fun it is to paint in ps)
After having tried Sai and now back to photoshop, I honestly can’t say I like one better than the other anymore, I like both.
I’ll be uploading a WiP of the drawing soon.
Your art is amazing! Do you do requests?
Unfortunately I’m not taking requests.
And beach girl 3 of 3
That’s it for the first series!
This was a fun experiment and of course I see tons of room for improvement if I ever try these again.
2nd beach girl of the pinup series.
I’m a fan of Chris Harper’s work and I purchased his sai tutorial package a while back.
I’m no pinup artist, but I have to say that the process he demonstrated was a great way to get started in trying some- so this series is gonna be experimental for me.
This is a short guest strip I did for Holly’s (LunarDawn on DA!) web comic Meowington back in September.
Greg is one of my favorite characters in the comic just because…he’s Greg xD
My strip was based on one of the very early ones http://meowington.com/?p=114
Definitely check out the website www.meowington.com
What program do you use?? (you draw awesome)
For more than a year now I’ve been using Sketchbook Pro as my digital drawing and coloring software. It’s user interface is very intuitive, it’s a very artist-friendly program.
Not to mention cheap. The copy I have is Sketchbook Pro 2011 which I bought for $50 but I hear that there’s a newer version that’s even cheaper than that.
Good Morning Beatrice. Yeah couldn’t think of a better title.
I sketched this on the weekend and worked on it today- experimenting with lighting and the airbrush tool on photoshop.
This is thelivingmachine02’s Monster High OC Beatrice Honey and she’s just adorable with great outfits, I felt I had to do some fanart of her! This is based off her Dead Tired design he drew a while back.
I finally got around to coloring that old Zecora sketch.
Fancy Felicity for Leia!
I absolutely love this girl in her classy hairstyle :)
So this is giftart for her also doing a portrait for me! So it’s like an art trade now XD Thanks again!
Originally requested by Meadowbreeze on DA.
I really don’t care much about shipping but I wanted to try this anyway. There’s something about TwiMac that compelled me to do so, probably kinda the opposites attract thing (not implying that Big Mac isn’t smart!), the thought is cute. I want to illustrate my point with some more pics but they’ll have to wait.
I’m planning to redraw the mane six. I don’t know when exactly, just another thing I’m saving for when I don’t have anything important to work on. I’m wrapping up 3 final MLP requests and meeting some personal deadlines for other projects in early June.
So for now I quickly doodled and saved these tiny undetailed thumbnails as a reminder. I’ve already got a general idea for what kind of silhouette and what kind of shapes I wanna conform to for each. You can kinda tell, but I’ll try and push them further when I actually start sketching them for real.
This is a quick gift for two of my pals Cainescroll and Mandy (aka “ChiaroA”) on deviantart.
On the left is Gabrielle and on the right is Chiaro. I did mention to Scroll that I wanted to try drawing his OC Gabs for one of my warmups and I was debating whether or not to draw her or Chiaro…but obviously I drew both! This works on two levels because Chiaro also belongs to Mandy and I thought it’d be fitting to include her.
Also, Scroll drew a very wonderful and cute rendition of my own OC Arianna which prompted me to draw Gabs and Chiaro as a thank you ^^ link
Well that’s about all of them! This is the latest one from today.
