Just a warmup I did this morning before heading out.
A pinup sketch of grown up Fuyuko that I decided to finish.
I’ve been thinking about doing some more pics of her ever since the ink piece from last weekend.
Lineart bust of an older Fuyuko.
Been inspired by all the Inktober art lately so I wanted to do something related to it. I’m not taking on the actual challenge though cuz I’m a wuss xD
This is a belated b-day gift for my younger brother. He loves the “Legend of Korra” series and he was always the first to keep me posted on the latest episodes- so I figured he’d like a fanart pic of his favorite character.
He showed me the trailer for season 4 a little while back which is what I tried to go off of in terms of Korra’s supposed new hairstyle (I really love it).
"Ugh, another winter already? Great…"
Here’s an old sketch of Mayu that I used as a coloring warmup for this morning. It’s supposed mirror the previous portrait I did of her as a human: http://ric-m.tumblr.com/post/92059685980/portrait-of-human-mayu-still-working-on-a
Winter Fuyuko with leg warmers :3
I was going to shade this but at second glance I felt I didn’t really need to.
Gonna work on Mayu next.
Practicing lineless art again, this time with the help of this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EN9crbr_8j4
Meet Frostnip and Mayu’s modern human counterparts- Mayu (*shrugs*) and Fuyuko. Two sisters who probably get along better than their snow spirits versions.
These are their school uniforms but I’m gonna be trying out a bunch of other more casual outfits and winter clothing for their default.
I consider this to be a non-canonical offshoot from the comic just because I want to experiment with their designs and personalities within a different setting.
I’ll probably stick with this style to further separate it from the comic too. This first sketch was simple since I wanted to focus on trying it out without getting too complex so I’ll work more on it for next time.
Here’s a reference for Arianna’s twin brother Anthony. He’s a tech guy at heart:
Birthday: March 21
Ethnicity: Caucasian (Italian-American)
Likes: computers, coffee, energy drinks, watching boxing, jogging, peach yogurt, sci-fi, hand sanitizer
Dislikes: sports in general, rude people, obnoxious alarm clocks, spicy food
Just like Ari, he’s a caffeine addict and stays up late- usually losing sleep looking into his dream rig, discussing in forums and other ways to nerd it up, xD (He doesn’t really follow most sports in general but is a fan of boxing though). Sometimes to wake up and stay up, Anthony sets up multiple alarm clocks in his room in different locations forcing him to get up and spend time going to each one.
He and Ari are pretty tight as twins, and despite having different core interests they love hanging out together when they can and still have plenty of overlapping similarities (shows, food, games, etc.).
Here’s just a couple “behind the scenes” pics of the Daring Do collab I did with my buddy Nico a while back.
I worked over his original sketch with the color scheme and basic shading just to get an idea of the light source. Nico then provided me with corrections/revisions after I passed it back to him for the final.
Of course, none of this would’ve been possible without Nico’s awesome sketch. He posted his original drawings on his blog so be sure to check them out to see how the whole concept started:
Rough sketches of Arianna’s twin brother, Anthony.
Originally I was just doodling with a male doppelganger in mind but I thought it’d be fun to maybe give her a sibling whom she can share her woes with.
I’ll probably use these for a reference sheet if I decide to go through with it.
