Playing around with the idea of Frostnip having a disguise when she’s out there tricking victims in snowstorms. Although I figured that she can get away with the innocent charm normally, I thought it would just be fun to mess around with a semi-alternate form.
As I mentioned before in my rough concepts, Frostnip actually gets the most satisfaction from misdirection and trickery, imbuing victims with false hope and leading them to their doom and freezing to death. Outright murdering people with her ice powers is still fun for her though.
The mask she wears to hide her identity has the ability to blind people’s judgement, leading them to utterly trust her. But it only works when they’re already weak physically and or mentally, so Frostnip would probably show up when victims are already at the brink of death and acting almost as an insurance policy that they’ll never make it out of a blizzard alive.
She carries a lantern so her victims can easily spot her and follow her during the night and she wears a dark robe instead of the usual white of snow spirits, which may trick some people into associating her with another type of spirit.
Finally gotten around to making an updated reference sheet for my character Arianna (or Ari for short).
To my surprise, I didn’t really change much, just a few minor things. One thing I want to exaggerate a bit more about her is the fact that she can get a bit high strung when it comes to stress, especially as an art student with assignments and deadlines. Also, due to her excessive coffee habits she can also be a bit of an insomniac.
So I decided to give her smaller pupils to give her that “spaced out” look by default, as well as having bags under her eyes. Other minor changes include shorter hair and no more bell sleeves for her shirt.
I’ve also included just some basic likes and dislikes. And of course her birthday will be based on the date I first drew her for an assignment, which was way back in March 21, 2011 after looking back at some old files.
Portrait of human Mayu.
Still working on a backstory for her and what exactly her personality was like, but for now I just wanted to try drawing her without the ghoulish scars and pale complexion.
"Let’s play a game Abigail!"
My half of the art trade for a friend of mine, Ric-m! I never really drew the twins before but I’m pretty happy with how they came out overall! Hope you like it too! 8>
Ahhh thank you so much!!! They came out so adorably creepy! :D Fantastic job once again with the background details and blending your style with the game so perfectly, like really!
Thanks for trading Skully, it’s been too long! c:
Wilson: “Willow, is it just me…or do you smell roasted berries?”
Decided to do an art trade with my buddy Skulltopus after finding out we both got Don’t Starve during the steam sale xD
Anyway, she wanted me to draw Willow setting Wilson on fire and so I thought that’d be a perfect follow-up to my previous Wilson pic.
Hope you like it! Can’t wait to see your half!
You shoulda told me you got Don't Starve too during the Steam sale too! >O> Yooo!!!!!
You got it off steam too?? This means we can play “Don’t Starve Together” when it comes out! :D
I guess it was no coincidence considering the time frame. We totally need to do a Don’t Starve art trade or something at some point! |D
My last Wilson found a Berry Bush Hat.
I got Don’t Starve about a month ago during a steam sale. Man I love this game.
It surprised me quite a bit and I died within days at a time xD
I’m using Willow for me current game and she’s one of my favorite characters to use along with Wendy (and can’t wait to unlock Wigfrid if I survive long enough).
What will Mayu think now that she’s witnessed her ice powers…
I wanted to finish this over the weekend but some unexpected events popped up.
Well, I think it’s safe to say that Frostnip wasn’t expecting Mayu to be so resilient to the idea of being her undead sister. On the bright side, she does get to see her powers in action.
Part three of “Frostnip’s New Sister”
If Mayu has anything going for her, it’s whatever power Frostnip has bestowed upon her with those frost claws.
And Frostnip is being genuinely sincere…albeit in a twisted sort of way.
I’m trying out slightly longer figure studies aside from 1-2 minute gestures (included at top left for comparison). The times range from 5 minutes, 10 minutes and 15 minutes.
The gradual transition has helped me, but yeah still got to practice. Especially longer studies.

I love your frostnip comics!
A short follow-up to my previous comic.
Frostnip take’s her new sister Mayu to a frozen lake to show her what the rest of her new form looks like.
Let’s just say that Mayu still isn’t very happy about this forced transformation.
